Cool The Entire Inglourious Basterds American Idol Clip??

When I read today that Tarantino apparently showed up on American Idol last night to show a clip for Basterds I was and still am quite surprised. I am curious why Tarantino would have thought Idol would be a good target audience. I am a huge Tarantino fan and have never seen an episode of American Idol before. This just strikes me as an odd choice because that seems like entirely the wrong demographic. Guys who like Tarantino movies don't strike me as American Idol fans. Anybody else think this was an odd choice to debut the clip? Well here is the clip anyways......

He's not shooting for a target audience. He likes American Idol. And as stated above, this isn't anything new.

I've been excited for this for about ten years, and that line "we ain't in the taking prisoners business, we're in the killing nazis business. And business is boomin!" just escalated by excitement even more. Ahh, August is too far away!
