Default Diesel and Walker Sign for Fast and Furious 5

This is absolutely shocking news, who saw this one coming?!?! Looks like the only way Vin will make movies anymore that make any money are to just keep revisiting the same properties over and over, isn't he still working on XXX3 and Riddick 3 as well

Dropping to second place, Universal Pictures' Fast & Furious dropped 59% over Easter weekend, while becoming the fifth movie of the year to cross the $100 million mark. (This time last year, only one movie had made that amount, Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who.) It has grossed $118 million total domestically and will cross $200 million worldwide today, putting it in line to cross the worldwide gross of the sequel 2 Fast 2 Furious by sometime next week. Over the weekend, Universal also signed the deal to have Vin Diesel and Paul Walker return for a fifth movie in the franchise.

Jesus....we didn't need this "Fast & Furious" and I guarantee we don't need the next. WHAT THE HELL!

Why are people entertained by such mindless drivel?

best review I saw for that movie: "Too much plot, not enough action". Any time a movie goer is saying there's not enough action in the film, and there's "too much" to the plot....

...well, number one they know nothing about movies

number two they have no respect for the art behind movies....

to them, movies are one thing: mindless nonstop action to get your adrenaline pumping...cheap thrills.

To people who actually give a damn about film, cheap thrills are fun, but definitely not the point of watching a movie.

I would say "to each his own" if this film wasn't proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that hollywood will make any film if they think it will make money, and if they THINK the action sold the movie, they'll try and switch formats and go for all action next time, and that reviewer will get what they asked for....and it will be pure crap as a result.

THIS is the kind of film that is behind all the crappy films that hollywood makes trying to capitalize on an "idea".

THIS is the kind of film that brings less and less in the manner of DECENT FILMS into theaters year after year

People complain about hollywood ruining everything and then support the very films that give hollywood the cause to continue doing so.

Well, enjoy your crap.

I think you answered it right there, some folks just go to the movies to escape from reality.

What better way to do that than a movie that's thin on plot but has lots and lots of pretty cars in it?

Movies are a business. Pure, simple, not hard to figure out, but there you have it.

Like roller coasters, but with more gum stuck on the bottom of your shoes.

Depends on the movie, some times folks are in the mood for Pride and Prejudice, sometimes they want Fast & Furious.

Business try to make money? Really? Anyone know when exactly THAT started happening...?

Actually that concept started with these newfangled moving pictures that folks keep telling me about, but hogwash I say.

People keep paying for them, Hollywood keeps makin' em.

Again, that depends on who you talk to.

I changed my mind, now I enjoy the movie, thanks for reminding me that Hollywood is escapism and a business.

That was just sarcasm, I fully expected 8 of those movies, lol. I like how muscle head Dom has learned some CSI skills from watching CBS and put them to work at the crash scene, and solved the case all by himself

It happened when the format war ended.

When the format war was going on, we were all on the same side, now that the war is over, everyone ends up being on the complete same side but there are now rifts forming in the winning side.

I think it's OK to rant/vent. Let's let people do it without jumping all over them. As long as they're not making personal attacks on other members, it's all good in my book.

I dunno man, I wish I can type the stuff that I'm thinking but I dont want to take the year vaca from here. It seems as though its all the newly registered people that seem to start all the arguments; and maybe some well known memeber

I hear what you are saying, I do but when pretty much all his posts are written in an argumentative way and tone, you have to wonder why. It seems as though he comes in to start tiffs and then vanishes.

by the time you get to a 5th movie (for any series) you have to wonder if they're ever going to stop...

imo spiderman has the only chance of possibly still being good all the way up to 6 movies (which is what i heard a long time ago they were doing).

but yeh, i see fast and furious just going on, and on, and on, and on...hey, if there's an audience for it, i'm glad they get to enjoy them. i just know i won't be showing up to the theater for it

Well when something tends to make Millions of dollars....You make it again....and again....I think making money is the whole point..
And if it made ALL that money...I think people went and paid to see it...As they will the next one.

I loved the new one...was hoping to see tyrese at the end when they driving off...but he probably is busy with transformers 2 lol...maybe he will make a appearance in the next one...walker..diesel and tyrese would be cool.

The car chase scene and explosion at the start of the movie will be soooo cool when i have it goin thru the surround sound here
