Default Good places online for buying new vinyl?

OK, let me have 'em!

So far I've used Amazon, Best Buy, J&R and Tower. I know there are better ones out there.

Looking for new rock/alternative

See this post https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...95&postcount=1 for a list of places to buy SACD. Most/all of those will sell vinyl as well.

I buy my stuff from www.acousticsounds.com and www.elusivedisc.com. Both pack their records well.

Ebay has always been a good vinyl source for me. Especially on the rare albums...

I'll definitely vouch for Acoustic Sounds. They've been great for SACDs and I know they have a pretty good vinyl section as well.

Musicdirect or soundstagedirect.com has great selections. Don't buy them all.

Yeah, I bought my amp stands from Music Direct. They're another quality outfit.

I'll definitely vouch for Shady Dog Records, http://www.shadydog.com/

They're a little local (Main Line PA) used record joint, but those guys know their stuff, and they're honest and cool. I always have a good experience when I go to their shop, but I'll bet ordering from them online is just as good.

www.soundstagedirect.com. Seth is a great guy. I have bought a lot of records from this site. Very fair pricing and good shipping. Of course eBay.

Try www.musicdirect.com! They have a huge selection and they carry a lot of Mobile Fidelity remixed/remastered LPs and CDs not to mention they have a huge selection of audiophile components and products

Just bought Pink Floyd: Echoes (4LP set) from amazon UK for 11.97 + 3.98 shipping (British pounds). Will let you know how that works out in terms of total CDN $ cost, once my CC gets charged. Hopefully customs will let this order slide regarding possible duties.

Yeah Amazon.uk is pretty safe to use for shipping to Canada or USA - I have used them several times in the past for other media and just ordered The Verve - Forth from them (2LP 180g) as their shipping is nice and low and cheaper than Amazon.com, Amazon.ca or theverve.tv

Acoustic Sounds, Music Direct, Elusive Disc, I've had good experiences with all of them for other media including vinyl.

I recently had a good transaction with Motor City North and a few other marketplace sellers from Amazon.com - usually if you check profile reputation and reviews from other buyers you'll get a good idea of who's good and who isn't.

My 3 favorites

Vinyl Collective http://stores.channeladvisor.com/vin.../?sck=24963056 - run by Virgil Dickerson. Great guy. Great customer service, top notch prices. Specializes in punk/Indie/folk. You'll find some major label stuff, some Metal and Classic rock there as well.

No Idea Records www.noidearecords.com/catalog/ - probably my favorite record label. They're also a disto. If you don't find what your looking for on that list. Try doing a search. They also sell T-shirts and whatnot. Great prices.

Fat Wreck Chords - http://www.fatwreck.com/ one of my favorite lables growing up. Bands like NOFX(Label is owned by NOFX front man Fat Mike), Lagwagon, Strung Out, Screeching Weasel, The Loved Ones have all put out albums on this label.

Honorable mention - insound www.insound.com - kinda pricey but they have a good selection
Asian Man Records - http://www.asianmanrecords.com/ Still run by Mike Park out of his parents garage. He's released some legendary albums by great bands.
Recess Records - http://www.recessrecords.com/ Great little label out of Riverside. Currently re-issuing the classic early Screeching Weasel albums. Owner Todd plays in the band "Toys that Kill" and "Underground Railroad to Candyland" Good stuff. Check it out.

If you're into this type of music or even if you aren't. They're still worth checking out I suppose.

I have never been ripped off or even had a problem that wasn't quickly resolved with any of the sites I listed.

+1 - I usually order $300-$400 worth of records at Christmas, usually preorders that come out different weeks. Seth calls regularly with updates and asking to ship as they come out, or ship all at once. Great place.
