The Terminator

Hey guy I don't know if this is the right place to ask but, does anyone know if there is any talk of a better version of Terminator 1 ever gonna be out? The reason I ask is that Walmart has it for $10 and that's pretty cheap but the review wasn't all that great, but then again its an old movie so I don't know if there is a way to make it better then what it is now. I almost bought T2 for $10 also but then I heard about the better version and am going to wait, any thoughts?

Coming pretty soon when the Skynet edition of Judgment Day comes out, can't remember the exact date atm.

There's a new Terminator movie coming out soon, I wonder if there might be some sort of revised box set once that arrives to blu-ray

I would currently wait on picking up Terminator for the new edition that will be released soon. There is no set date yet, but Lowry Digital is remastering the print for a new transfer. Given their previous track record, I can only imagine how good the original film will look. Just beware though, there will be a new 'lenticular' cover version of the previously available disc releasing shortly before the new T2 Skynet Edition. This site posted up news about this a little while back...

"In an early announcement to retailers, MGM Home Entertainment in conjunction with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has revealed that they will bring 'The Terminator (Lenticular Cover)' to Blu-ray on May 12th, day-and-date with the DVD re-issue and one week before Lionsgate's new 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day (Skynet Edition)' Blu-ray.

According to our good friend Bill Hunt at The Digital Bits, MGM is simply re-issuing the existing disc with a new lenticular cover, so nothing new."


So while that price tag might be enticing for the original film, all I can say is wait it out a little more for the new Lowry transfer coming soon, and not the MGM re-release that's coming in three weeks.
