Default 9.1 speaker setup question

I had Onyko 9100thx home theater system which is 7.1 speaker system, i check the receive it has 2 more slot for "B" speaker front, i notice there's a option for turn on speaker A & B. I wonder i add 2 speaker to B (Front) i can get 9.1 I notice THX and some other setting can convert 5.1 to 7.1 but it will do the same for 9.1? is it even worth to upgrade to 9.1.

I saw amazon selling sony b1000 bookshelf speaker (pair) for 49, consider buy it to add as 9.1 for (speaker b front)

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-SS-B1000-8-Inch-Bookshelf-Speakers/dp/B000OG88KY/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Should I do it?

1) Don't do it... just buy BETTER speakers

2) No... it won't matrix 7.1 to 9.1

3) Yes... you can add two more speakers, and put them up front to "stretch" your soundfield somewhat..... and you may like it... and I say "go for it" but you should know.... the discs AT MOST are recorded and engineered for 7.1.... so there is no-such-thing with Blu-ray.. or Home-theater, currently that is 9.1 (which would indicated NINE DISCREET CHANNELS OF AUDIO, WITH ONE MORE FOR LFE) just as there is no such thing as 7.2.... adding a second sub can help with standing waves etc.... but there is only ONE discreet LFE signal being sent.... so you can add 50 subs to your room... and it will be 7.1, with the .1 being played via 50 subs

I don't think you can use A ~ B at the same time !!!

There is actually a 9.1 format coming out, sort of. It's the new Dolby ProLogicIIz, but it doesn't work the way you're describing. Your receiver/processor would have to have the feature. As Beta Man stated, no material is recorded in such a format. It's a type of processing done in the receiver.
