Broken Lizard's - Club Dread - Info On Songs From The Movie - Blu-ray Forum

I was looking for the songs that Coconut Pete sung in the movie. I quickly found that they were not released on a cd soundtrack. Amazon lists a soundtrack, but none of the songs are on there. So I did a little searching and found them. They are available directly from clubdread.com.

The links are in the second blog post by Kevin titled "2 More Days". I thought I would share this in case anyone else loved them as much as I did and wanted to have them. Quality is great. Sound perfect. I am happy to finally have them in my collection.

yeah, my brother in law made his own Coconut Pete cd.

tidbit: Jimmy Buffet actually sings some of Coconut Pete's songs on stage when he's on tour

That is cool. I love how how the girl in the movie asks Pete to sing margaritaville and he gets pissed. Lol - hilarious!

I've seen Buffet play at Jazzfest in new orleans so maybe next time we'll try to yell, "play pina coladaburg!!!"

I love how Pete repeated words. That made me laugh. I love Club Dread, the Director's Cut. Best $5 spent at Wal-Mart.

I was a little confused a few days ago after watching Club Dread. The original I saw way back showed lars and the blond chick rooting through peoples effects and in doing so, found "sex toys".

The copy I watched a few days ago, left out this scene and it had several other scenes I have never seen before. Specifically the parts where the Puerto Rico government shows up on the island, the killer blows up their boat with a flaming arrow, a body washes on shore of the mainland, etc etc. Lots of stuff I never saw before.

What version did I just watch?

The version with the sex toy is the Theatrical cut. It's not in the Unrated cut. I prefer the Unrated version.

If you have the DVDs, the theatrical cut is double sided with Full Frame and Widescreen on each side and no bonus material except for like a Soundtrack Promo.

The Unrated cut is single sided and in Widescreen.

Why would they cut the sex toy stuff out of the UNCUT version? Thats what threw me. Kinda does not make any sense.

Maybe Broken Lizard felt it wasn't needed. There's scenes in theatrical cuts that are not present in unrated cuts. Spoilers, here and I do not feel like putting the tags because I am making a point. Talladega Nights was missing the whole; "I want to go fast!" when Ricky Bobby was a little kid driving his mom's car in the theatrical cut. The ending to Saw IV is slightly different in terms of revealing with Hoffman getting up from the chair at the end.

Probably Broken Lizard felt that putting the "toy" in it would help boost them in sales because Club Dread is a film that's about sex in a way because there's lots of it going on in the film.

Weird. Thanks for the info. I hope if it comes out on blue they have both versions.

I'm sure it'll come out on BD eventually. Sooner rather then later as this is my favorite Broken Lizard movie.

I am looking now - I see a 2004 release (girl with knife behind her back and teal/white bathing suite), a 2005 unrated (girl with blue shirt boobs on the cover) and a 2009 release (obviously don't want that one). Which one should I go for?

You can try Wal-Mart and look in their $5 DVD section like I did and get it. There's also the 3 Pack DVDs that go for $15 and those usually have the Theatrical.

Unrated cut is 14 minutes longer.
