If you're a big fan of the film and want to watch all of the extras, then get the digibook edition. Plus, the Digibook looks pretty sick, so if you'd rather have the nice special edition, it's worth it.

Only things that are different are the packaging and extras (i.e. more of them). Your call depending on your opinion of the movie.

The Digibook CE of 300 is freakin' awseome! I got for less than the price of the regular version when WBshop had that crazy code stacking going on last Summer!

Only thing different is the exclusion of one of the lossless codecs and a few more extras.

If you're just into the movie itself, keep it. If you care about cool packaging and tons of extras, then the digibook it is. It is really sweet.

The digibook is sick! I love the cover and the artwork. It's great. I don't usually like digibooks, but this one is awesome and it goes well with the few other ones I got.

Digibook! I replaced my regular with the Digibook version and love the lossless audio. Definitely worth the upgrade.

Depends if you're a fan of Digi-books..This one is the nicest! Very glossy finish. The extra features are great but it's the same transfer and same amount of grain:

If I didn't dislike the movie so much, I would've upgraded to the digibook, just to see the version of the film without all the digital effects added yet. That's a cool feature.

Well, it won't be a big price difference...no more than $10! I paid $20 for the digibook at Best Buy last month!

I may be a bit biased here, as 300 is my favorite film of all time, but I prefer the Digibook version, as its 3 extra PiP tracks are pretty interesting. The PQ and AQ are the same, but if you want to know how the film was adapted from the graphic novel and how the story relates to real life and want to see the film with just the blue-screen, then the Digibook is perfect. So if you will watch the extras, then replace the version you got with the newer one.

Guys, both the Digibook and normal version have a TrueHD track. The normal version has an uncompressed PCM track which they removed for the Digibook.

Nope. The PCM and TrueHD track are the same quality. Its just that Warner included the TrueHD option as compensation for the missing Picture-in-Picture track that the HD DVD received.

After volume matching, they're the same.

That's intentional by the director. The grain is what gives the film that Hi-Def look.

yes, the PCM track does seem louder and more dynamic. I do prefer the PCM track. It does have more 'oommph' to it. A google search brings up lots of conversation comparing the two.
