Can someone take a look at my motherboard specs?
I currently do not have a HD receiver (I'm trying to learn so in a few months I can purchase correctly.) I'm trying to figure out how my motherboard does HD audio. My mobo (scroll down for specs): http://ncix.com/products/?sku=41233&...cture=Gigabyte It states it can do HD audio. However the * is saying that it's only HDMI 1.3 certified in video. 1.3 is the only version to do DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD audio though, correct? Optical does not do HD audio...correct? So this means the 6 jacks are my HD audio? I am extremely familiar with Realtek (6 mobo's w/) and know I can specify any port I want to do any feature. When I hook up a cable though I can only specify 'front' and 'back'. Not 'front right' or 'back left'. So I really don't get where High Definition audio comes in here... I want to run my home theatre off a PC, if this board cannot do proper HD audio can someone recommend a board that will. AMD AM2/AM2+, DDR2 RAM Thank you! |
