Are you looking to get an AVR & Speakers? 5.1 or 7.1?
Unless you are getting some kind of discount I'd look online for better prices. Examples: SVS Sound: SCS-01(M) mains (LCR) with SBS-01 surrounds SB 12-Plus subwoofer Total: Total ~1400 ListenUp.com has great deals on Boston Acoustic E-series right now. Boston Acoustics: E70's - LRC for $750 for three (free shipping) E60's $400 a pair (free shipping) Sub - Premier Acoustic PA 120 ~229 (eBay) Total ~$1400 Either should leave you enough for a decent AVR. Also, Newegg has some great deals on Polks |

Usually have a love or hate reaction to klipsch. You should listen to them first for sure. They are very bright w/ the horn tweeters. Some people love them and they sound great for rock music IMO. But personally I wouldn't want them for HT.

I think Best Buy is like most other electronic stores...you will have your low end, cheaper selection, and more high end as well (the one by me carries Polk). I agree with the poster above - always audition your equipment before buying. That's your best bet...especially when $2200 is involved. |

Some people love em, some hate em. They sound good with movies, not so sure with music. Try def tech while your there.
Any Paradigm dealers in your area? If you can I would really recommend the monitor 9's, cc-290, and adp-390. The retail is around your budget of 2200.00, however the dealers will typically work with you on the price. Now is a good time, the v.5's are being replaced by the v.6's. There is only minor changes in the two versions. |

Sound Advice was the last Big Box store to carry high end equipment. |

Go out and listen to at least 3to5 different brands, and then listen again. We all have different ideas about what sounds good. After you narrow it down to the 2 you like check warranty and reviews online. And don't be afraid to hit local smaller custom dealers, alot of them have rooms set up to audition whole systems. Take your time because if your like me you don't get to blow 2200 bucks on gear that often.

If starting from scratch I would go out and listen to a lot of different systems. When you find one you like I would then start to do price comparisons. Chances are you're going to be able to get a setup that you want for a lot less than what best buy offers it for.

I agree if your paying full price at BB i would audition other speakers at local shops, you can usually bargin and get a better price than the list price. I don't like Klipsch and with your budget you could do allot better than what BB has to offer.
