Does anyone know if the PS3 has bookmarking capabilities? If the PS3 doesn’t have that ability, then does anyone know when it might be included in a firmware upgrade. I bought a PS3 to use as my primary blue-ray player / dvd player and now I am constantly annoyed that I can’t turn it off and on again without loosing the location in the movie where I left off. My cheap 150 dollar Sony dvd player had this feature, what gives?

Not at this point. Currently, you can only go back to your exact scene if you hit stop and then hit play later on. If you turn of the PS3, bookmark details will be lost.
Your $150 player can do this because DVD was probably for 5 or more years before you bought that DVD player (especially at that price). This is an early adoption market. Don't expect all the bells and whistles so early in the game. Who knows...it might be it a future firmware update. Last edited by Ascended_Saiyan; 04-30-2007 at 11:50 PM. |

I was having some trouble with all this bookmarking and resume playback option and what not in PS3.
so i think i know how to work with bookmarks because i think there has been enough discussion about resuming playback in blu ray discs. ok so bookmarks. while watching a movie press the "green" button and it SHOULD let you know that a bookmark has been added. and then go to menu and scene selection, there should be "bookmarks" written somewhere and there it will show you where you saved the movie spot(s). and there you can delete them if you want as well. ![]() this feature depends on movie to movie (it worked in Uninvited) and i do not know if it'll work after restarting PS3 or not. |
