Default Front Right Speaker is too quiet....why?

my front right monitor is quieter than the front left monitor. this is what i have done to troubleshoot. I ran the test tone and i have to turn it up to -4.5 to get it to match the volume of the fl monitor which is at -10.5. i pulled the speaker wire, re prepped it then put it back on. i switched the monitor sides to see if it was the speaker its self and no difference. its my worst fear to think its coming out of the receiver this way, but i think this is the case. just looking for some reassurance i am getting ready to take some pictures if it helps.
