Arrow Thank you blu-ray!

I've been a movie collector since early 2003 but late 2007 and early 2008 I started hitting a huge rut in buying catalog titles. Since blu-ray has come out, I've bought blu-rays like a crazy person, at least for my standards. Anyone else here have a similar experience with the blu-ray format.

Now save up for your home theater, you with your "bad hearing, limited space, and limited budget."

I'm serious!

Just not sure how much someone with terrible hearing in both ears could really appreciate a good home theatre...

Well, you can feel bass, can't you? And sound from a decent HT would be leaps and bounds over plain TV sound, correct? So even with bad hearing, a little upgrade would sound better to your ears. Clearer.

But I stand by the bass comment though. You don't need to hear that. You feel it.

I never really got into DVDs, because while I did like what they had to offer, they never really "wowed" me the way Blu-ray does with its picture and sound. Blu-ray is what I've been waiting for my whole life as far as home theater is concerned. I waited quite a long time (two+ years) before buying an HDTV while the format war was going on -- just waiting for a winner. That was a long wait. Once Blu won, it was all over from there.

I don't have a ton of movies now, but the rate at which I purchase Blus is probably 100 times faster than that which I bought DVDs.

Its was Blu ray that got me into buying an HDTV and since then it has been a great ride that I am sure will get even better. Now I dont have a huge amount of Blu rays like some of you guys do and thats only because I do have some other things that have to come first like car payment, rent, car insurance just to name a few but that is going to change in a bit. But Blu ray has changed how I do watch movies and I appreciate Blu ray more then ever because for me its opened up a whole new world in watching my favorite movies. Heck my HDTV has opened up a whole new world for me. I could never go back to regular tv or just plain old dvd. A few years ago I was a non believer in HDTV and Blu ray. My how things have changed!
