Default iPhone... Who's buying it?

I searched the cingular website and noticed its coming out on the 29th and really looking foward to getting it. I have the Sprint PDA Phone with slide out keyboard, but I'm not a fan of Sprint so I'm getting the iPhone with the 8GB memory. Anybody else getting it?

Too rich for my blood. Plus, I only use a phone for one thing, talking.

Haha, yeah I used to do a lot of that but now its mostly text msgs and when I'm bored I used the phone for the internet, so I need a PDA.

The HTC Touch looks better. I doubt Apple can make a decent phone and the iphone has too many features missing.
Like a keypad for dialling and text messages.

How many poorly made products does Apple make? Hmmm. Not many. You may like the HTC better but let's not be dumb.

What's wrong with an onscreen keypad unless you're blind and need the textured 5 key?

i wont be buying because i figure with the way most ppl handle phones the screen will get alot of abuse over time. and i all i need a phone for is to talk and send text and online. There are already phones out there that can do that and for alot cheaper. $499....nope not for me

Stuff like this and AppleTV?...I hate to say it but I'm really starting to feel like Apple's stretching that net out too far and too thinly.

Obviously the sales figures down the road could prove me wrong, but we'll see.

I won't buy any phone since my company pays for my Blackberry. Still I think iPhone will be an excellent product.

Thats what I'm saying. I've got the 60GB iPod Photo. I need an upgrade. With the touchscreen on the iPhone(just like my current phone) its really nice. The 1-9, *, #, keys that you want are right on the screen and very easy to use. But my current phone has the slide out keyboard, where as the iPhone doesn't so that'll be interesting to see how easy it is to type with that. I'm buying it for personal use. I work as a construction manager for a large home builder and they give me a phone as well(The rugged Nextel garbage I580 lol) So I will still have 2 cell phones, because I can't use the work cell for text msgs.

I read an article in the Maximum PC a few months ago about the iPhone. It is supposed to have crazy restrictions like the iPod. Don't know what to think yet.

What restrictions exactly? Like moving music or sharring? My computer has crashed once and I was able to hack into the iPod and transfer back to the computer.

Yes, something like that. Also no 3rd party apps and such. I am looking for the mag now but can't seem to find it. Better for you just to wait a few weeks after it comes out to see what is really up.

Found it. It is the March 2007 Maximum PC page 5. It say the iPhone won't run 3rd party apps because Steve Jobs says it could bring down a cell network(apple BS like normal). Anyway, look it up.

On the other hand, the iPhone to me looks kick ass. I will just wait to see what happens!!

using an on screen keyboard is a pain. You have to watch what you are doing. The Iphone isn't for making phones calls. There are no 3rd party apps, no memory expansion. the HTC Touch is smaller and lighter, if you want a phone as gimmick, plus many more operators will support it.

Apple hopes to get 1% of the market. Very-very unlikely.

There will be third party applications if the latest rumors are any indication. Steve Jobs will announce the SDK for 3rd party developers at the upcoming WWDC.
