Default Help on hiding cables

Hi I'm looking to hiding my cables and I would like to run them be-hide the wall for clean setup, but I'm very new to home theater set up and I was wondering if anyone can offer easy way for run cable be-hide the wall or I also want to know about the raceways and where to buy them and any recommendations. Also I would like to keep a low budget for this fix up. Thanks for all the help.

You can find the raceways at home depot. Im not sure on pricing. I also found some at circuit city (The source here in Canada).
They're also printable which helps.

You could pull up your base molding and tuck the wiring behind it. Another option would be to run your wiring up inside your wall and run it it your attic space. The way I ran mine was to run it up inside the wall and pull it out at the top. I then stapled it to the wall and ran it to where I needed it, then dropped it down inside the wall. Now I just need to run the crown to hide the wiring. Whichever you decide be sure to use wire rated for in-wall use.

There is no way to hide the cables in the wall without ripping out some drywall. If your running cables horizontal through your wall you would have to cut a square in your drywall to drill holes through your studs. Then feed the wires through your new holes and patch up the drywall. Don't know where you live but I believe the standard is 16inch spacing for studs. If your not good at using tools or don't want to mess up your room I suggest you do raceways.

You could also cut out some of the moulding to create a channel behind your baseboards and reattach them. You can do this with a router or a table saw and a chisel ( not sure how handy you are though ) This will look alot better than any raceways you use IMO.

What I did was add another piece of trim moulding above my baseboards and gouged out a 1/2 inch channel for my speaker wire. This way I didn't have to fuss with removing and reattaching the baseboards and it adds a nice bit of architectual detail as well.

The piece i used was very similar to the moulding in the top left of this picture: http://www.blueoxmill.com/Chair%20Ra...20Moulding.jpg

you can run wires inside your walls without cutting any drywall out. This does not includes those holes to cut for the wall plates. Just the right tools and experience does it all.

so after doing some research and talking about the fire code and high voltage and some people at home depot. I have started with a cut out of the drywall and putting my cables through and gang wall boxes installed and run the romex cable for the power source and order this

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...ormat=2&style=
....I ordered some raceways for my RG6 Coaxial, speaker cables, and Cat 6
Should be here on Tuesday!

I just can't wait!!!!
