Default Afro Samurai Resurrection - No TrueHD Track

Apparently, a Disc scan at AVS and a poster at AnimeonDVD forums are reporting that Afro Samurai-Resurrection does not have an English TrueHD 5.1 track, despite it being listed on the back as TrueHD. It is just standard DD 5.1 English track. Just thought I would give a heads up to those interested in buying this.

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showp...postcount=1361
Apparently, AS:R is on a BD50 and the movie occupies roughly half the disc. Average Bitrate is around 30 and the film is around 1hr40mins. No excuse why this shouldn't have a TrueHD track.

Guess I will wait and hope Pony Canyon does a proper release.

Really?

Their most recent blu-ray release was just done so well... a shame about this one.

Does anyone know if this is made by the same team of artists, animators, writers, etc. as the first one? It's hard to tell from the product descriptions.

They clearly put a lot of hard work,(and money), into this second adventure. It looks stunning.

I think they made a mistake here because the back of the packaging clearly states TrueHD as the included audio track.

My copy is on its way, so I think we should all send Funi a polite email asking them to correct the problem.

All right, so does anyone know how to get in contact with FUNIMATION regarding this? As usual their website is full of puffery but contains no real help in sending them a message.

I don't know either. I can't seem to find a "contact us" link anywhere on their website for anything but a webmaster.

So if anyone knows who/how to contact Funi about this problem please post here.

That's what I think happened too. This is the only email address I could find.
feedback@funimation.com

I think I'm might ask thedigitalbits if they could help, they're pretty good about contacting studios and helping their readers.

Wow wish I found out this thread before I opened it up. I swear I was scratching my head for a few minutes trying to find the language section on the menu.

Think Bestbuy will take it back since it's been mislabled?

At NYCC I mentioned this to a FUNi rep and they were not aware. We'll see what happens.

HERE is the contact information for Funimation. Everyone who has purchased AS:R please contact them and politely ask them to resolve the problem with the audio track.

Thanks.

Best Buy will take it back for a refund, opened or not since the packaging itself is incorrect. If they try and say that they don't accept opened movies, insist to a maanger that it is an incorrect label and they HAVE to. As a Best Buy associate, I know the rules and we HAVE to take it back.
