Default Samsung LN52B610

anybody know anything about this model? Not on the Samsung website, but is supposed to be part of the new 2009 lineup. I need to exchange my A650 because of too much backlight bleeding.

where did you see it? Sometimes places like costco or samsclub etc. will have slightly different part#'s but the specs will match one of their common tvs.

have you properly calibrated your 650? sometimes that can help bleeding....

I had bought my 650 at Sears. They discontinued the 650 and said the replacement was the B610. Just was wondering where this fell between the A650 and B650.

No I have not calibrated my set. Really? I can calibrate and reduce the bleeding? Can I do this myself?

I did call Samsung support, and they didn't mention this.

I don't believe the B610 would be a replacement for the A650. The B650 is the 2009 replacement for a A650. There is a 2008 A630 and 2009 B630 line with 120hz.

Try adjusting the backlight, down to like 4 or 5 and take any dynamic contrast settings and turn them off, turn the HDMI black level to low, brightness about 40-50 and turn up the contrast 90-95 and turn it over to movie or standard mode, not vivid or dynamic, see if it helps,. Bleeding occurs on a lot of lcds, although most will go unnoticed, cause it is so minor, if you adjust the settings and it is still a big problem, then exchange it.

Yeah, I tried adjusting all of these things - even turned backlight to 0. Nothing worked. I already have in my mind to exchange, but not sure for what. I would like an LED backlit LCD, but these are too expensive (and in my opinion overpriced). Hopefully I don't exchange for a TV with the same problem. Thanks anyway.

I work at sears and can easily say that i have not seen a 610 model at all. I've seen all the samsungs were getting in 09 and there's still one unannounced in the 40, 46, and 52 screen sizes and i'm assuming that's the 630 series with a matte finished screen like last year which is definitely not a 650 replacement. The B650 is the replacement for the A650.

I din't think Sears will carry the B650 or B750. Have no idea where B610 will fit into the picture.

I just saw the LN46B650 today in person at Micro-Center. Wow. First, the PQ was great. But I was wrong about the angular frame. With the subtle red, and that frame, it really stands out from the rest of the ordinary rectangular black Sammies. There is much more to a TV than picture quality.

I just purchased a LN52B610 at SamsClub.

The TV is fantastic, very nice color/contract with good dark levels.

It has four HDMI ports, two component, one composite, two av audio( video shared by composite) , one vga, usb in; one optical out, one coaxial out.

The TV supports 1080P/24P playback.

On the website they advertise 80000:1 dynamic contrast radio, and in the store 40000:1 . ( tv price sticker )

The e-manual does not list spec's.

Instead of the 630 & 640, they just have the new 610 now.... according to their website

I read somewhere that the 610 series was limited release to clubs like BJ's or Costco while the 630 series will be available at large retailers.

Not sure about that, last year the X40 were the ones in Sams Club and Costco etc., and the 630s were everywhere else with the 650, for the new "B" series, they only have on their website listed the B650 & B610. Althought they still have the A630 on their website too..... not sure how long that will stay.
