I would say that Aperion or Axiom are the top ID speaker MFG/Distributors.

What is your budget?

callas, what do you think of the aperion speakers? my brother inlaw almost bought a set up from them, then decided to buy the PSB image series setup from a local dealer.

I havent heard the Aperions. But from all the reviews, they seem to be pretty good. I would be willing to bring them home for an audition if I was in the market.

However if I was looking at spending something significant say $2k and above, I think I would be all over Dynaudio Focus 140s or Excite X32s. Dali Mentors would not be bad either. There are others of course, Focal 826Vs, and a few others. Monitor Audio.RX8s

This is a list of most factory-direct speakers. If you want good performing speakers at reasonable prices, check Home Theater Direct (HTD) and EMP. Don't misunderstand. There is nothing wrong with the other manufacturers, but the above two companies sell excellent speakers at low prices.

If some of the links are dead, don't blame me. It is the fault of the manufacturer.

B&W CM9s for example are great, without having to sell your house LOL Paradigm also has some amazing speakers for the money, so does Monitor Audio.
if you want something more jaw-dropping - Revel, Usher, and Focal come to mind

My X16s play better then the Studio 60s and CM8s, and they were compared before I bought the X16s. thats not to say the others are slouches, by any means. OP, you should audition as much as you can.

I can vouch this.

Times like these I wish I could say I've demoed more speakers to give others an idea of where Swan falls with other brands, but until then I'll always direct people to the AVS Swan owner's thread.

buy within your means. i love johnny's setup as well and drowl when i look at his pics, but i am also very happy with what i have and bought within my means. if yu have a budget, do some demo's of speakers with in your budget.

my brother inlaw just bought the same PSB image setup i had before my dali setup and they were fantastic sounding speakers. he got all 5 speakers for $2K.

good luck with what you do

If I were in the market for the best Factory Direct Speakers, I would go with Sunny Cable or Tyler Acoustics speakers. At those prices, they are a bargain.

Sunny Cable H3W18 (Majestic), $108,000 a Pair:

No pictures available

Sunny Cable H3W15S (Special Edition), $63,000 a pair:

Sunny Cable H3W12, $38,000 a pair

Sunny Cable H3W10, $19,800 a pair

Sunny Cable H2W10, $8,800 a pair

Sunny Cable H2W8, $5,800

Tyler Acoustics D10, $13,500 a pair:

They have a few speakers below $3,000

SVS actually. Their M Series to me look really good and I do like the way they sound.

Swans...I have heard they sound similar to Onix Rockets, and I really like my Rockets and I may be looking for a set of 850's in the future. I almost bought Swans when I was looking for speakers, the reason I didnt was because I was hooked on the RS200 Bigfoot Center Speaker. I really wanted a good center and at the time everything I had read was positive...and I was not disappointed.

Swans actually had a really good deal on their 601's here recently and on a 601 package as well. They are beautiful and if its true they sound like the Rockets then I may be looking that way as well....but I'm sure someone will come along wanting to part with their "outlawed" RS850 Sigs and I'll be wait'n.
