The Dark Knight (and WB films) only allow a license for one computer and one mobile device.

That is not true for the iTunes Digital Copy. I have it on 2 of my computers. You can put an iTunes movie on up to 5 computers but the computers have to all be linked to the same iTunes Store account.

ok so then only 1 digital copy can be dl'd to only 1 iTunes account? So that means all the used Blu Rays are useless then? That is so dumb if so.

Well, if you're buying a Blu-ray, are you buying it for the digital copy or the Blu itself? I think that if the DC has been used, it doesn't make the blu any less valuable. But then, I'm not a DC guy, I think I dl'd one just to see how it worked.

Yes. Its one digital copy per account/computer.

iTunes' DRM is less restrictive. As long as you are signed into you iTunes account and authorize the computer, up to five as previously mentioned, you can enjoy them.

Windows Media DRM is more restrictive. Due to the nature of WMA, the DRM is tied to the store account you bought it from but some WMA DRM files are tied to the computer name. So unless the computer name matches, you won't be able to enjoy them should the PC change or the hard drive fails.

You can move the iTunes Music and Windows Media folders to another drive, I use an external drive, for safe keeping. That way your files are given a bit of protection against primary drive failure.

Yeap, putting everything on an external is your safest choice. I do it for all the movies and music I have in the iPod format. I have 98 GB of iPod movies on my 500 GB external hard drive. It's way more than what my iPod can handle.
