Default Hmm. Know what I realized? There is no such thing as ".2". Fix your sigs!

All of us who make claims saying that our system is 5.2 or 6.2 or 7.2 or 7.4 or whatever - it doesn't exist. Right? Sources are created to have merely one low frequency channel - no matter how many times we split it, it is still that one channel. Sure, the others intended for the speakers are their own separate channels, with distinct information going to each channel in a 5-speaker, 6, or 7-speaker setup. Each one gets different sonic information. But not with subwoofers. We could have 10 subs in the room with 5 speakers, and it is still 5.1. Not "5.10" as ridiculous as that sounds.

Given that, bass is non-directional, there would never be need to go to .2 as a source standard, correct? This preceding sentence I may be mistaken on, but I'm almost sure I could be right.

I'm going to start spreading the word about this. Part of my "95 Theses" that I'm going to nail to the forum wall - along with "if bass rumbles your house and shakes your windows, you aren't doing it right" and "the knob is not a volume control, its a gain" and "putting two subwoofers next to your L/Rs is NOT optimum placement"

Join the revolution!
