‘Cabin in the Woods’ Director Drew Goddard Adapting Graphic Novel Thriller ‘Sabrina’
Quote:
Nick Drnaso set his sights on the “fake news” cycle with last year’s graphic novel Sabrina, published by Drawn and Quarterly and centered on the murder of the title character. The story is headed to the big screen, Collider reports tonight, with Drew Goddard (Cloverfield, The Cabin in the Woods, Bad Times at the El Royale) set to write and possibly also direct.
“In Sabrina, when his girlfriend goes missing, a grieving man goes to live with his old friend – an Air Force surveillance expert agent who is dealing with a failed marriage. After a grisly videotape is anonymously sent to news outlets, Sabrina’s disappearance goes viral. As the 24-hour news cycle and social media take hold of the story, the two men are targeted by vitriolic conspiracy theorists that threaten their sense of the truth and their faith in each other.”
New Regency and RT Features are producing the film adaptation.
