Default American Physco Is Underated

I found the PQ on this to much better than what some made it out to be. Can't believe i held off on this so long.

Who else thought the same.

I went with the Aussie release because it received a (supposedly, I never saw the American release) better transfer, and it also includes a very nice TrueHD track, whereas the American release is only Dolby Digital.

I think the PQ on the majority of the films people complain about ad nauseam, like "Rambo First Blood" are still huge leaps from the DVD..... I used to double dip DVDs all the time for "Super Bit" or replaced players for newer progressive scan, nuon enhanced yada yada yada..... and none of those efforts compare to the benefit these films get when upgraded on Blu-ray......

My rule now.... if I think I'll watch the movie a few more times, I'll replace my DVD.... I don't care if it gets a "1" for PQ/AQ from reviews...... because I know it'll still be an improvement, and in the case of Rambo, and American Psycho, or T2, etc.... they can all be found for less than $10 so why wouldn't I upgrade to get the better picture/audio

American Psycho is the slightly better version of Mr Brooks, I would give it even higher praise if I were attracted to any of the women in the movie.

If people complain about the PQ of the blu they should seriously watch it side by side with the DVD. The skyline scenes alone are enough to make you puke on DVD, that film has so much grain it's like watching it through a screen door while sand is being flung at you. The PQ on the blu is just fine by me considering the original!

I recently bought it and wish that I would have got it long ago. I held off mostly due to the bad PQ ratings. I got it for $10 though so I am happy

I thought Primal Fear looked worse than AP.

Paramount seem to have this idea that for all there HD mastering they should suck any grain structuer a film might have right out and leave a nice blocky look with pasty skin tones.

Still it looks better than the DVD but man how much better it would have been if they did not give it an overdose of DNR.

You would still say that even even some one took a huge dump on the original print and transferred it on to Blu-ray.

The Australian Blu-ray by Sony is MUCH better than the US Lionsgate release.

You would have to be blind to miss the EE in the domestic release!

So do you own the Aussie release? If not you should jump on that quickly. Someone like you should own the best version possible.

The whole bluray has a clear, crisp sound and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that gives the movie a big boost.
