I finally got around to mopping up the rest of CD 4 on veteran on my 360 (if it was not for achievement's i would not bother with it).
And man is this one of the most screwed up difficulty's ever. The problem is the difficulty does not complement the game play so skill is irrelevant and it all comes down to blind luck and an aura of calm that i think a Buddhist monk would have a hard time matching. For the majority of CD 4 you fight camel traders who have just been conscripted into some made up middle eastern dictators army and some very angry Russian farm hand peasants who want to blow up the west cause there poor. You are suppose to be a professionally trained solider ether US marine or an SAS commando. On veteran you die in 2 to 4 shots (mostly 2). Where as your enemy's the camel traders and the angry Russian farmers die in 4 sometimes 5. What's worse is some of these guys despite having there arms near blown off, internally bleeding and whole manner of other injury's inflicted to them still can have the strength to draw there hand guns and fire at you. So the whole idea your suppose to be professional solider is contradicted. It does not help matters when almost all the time you are a one man team. Your squad, unit just seems to do nothing but stand there and fire at thin air only on the odd accusation after you killed a 100 or so camel traders or angry Russian farmers do they advance and actually kill someone. I just thought i vent some of my anger about this here. Still got mile high club to try and do ![]() |

The COD series in general was maddening for me to get through on vet difficulty. There were a few bottleneck spots in particular that were frustrating as hell. More than once I had to restart a level because it auto-saved right before a mortor landed on my head. Reload after a death, respawn, a fraction of a second later repeat the cycle...
