Default The "I got -------- for $--.-- " thread(Official Brag Thread)

This thread is for all of those insane deals you got but aren't available for anyone else. Like "I got Pineapple Express for $6.99 at FYE because blah blah blah". A lot of those threads get buried in OT and since they don't belong in Hot Deals, they go here. All new similar threads will be merged into this one.

I know what you mean, the Wal-mart I was at today has them all behind glass, and in the High School Musical 3 setup, they even had "For blu-ray, see a sales associate". But with the Body of Lies blu-rays, they were right there in the open, for the taking, with the regular DVDs. In both the isolated display, and the new release floor display. They were in there too. All the other releases for today were all $30 or more, with no mistaken signs.

Ya, Futureshop is another one that is good for wrong signs. You just have to watch for them, and know your prices. I bought a black camouflage wireless mouse from them a whiles back... for $30, when it was supposed to be $80.

Plus... if you know the trick with their red sticker prices.... shhh

I got TDK here in Mexico one week before the US release about 7 USD cheaper, since I pre oorder it with amazon from a gift card the I used it to pay the player and 4 movies promotion so for me was a very good chain of deals

Lost Season 3 for $32.24 a couple weeks ago at the Circuit City Clearance sale. At my local CC, I saw it while the price was 60% off, but I hesitated and when I came back a couple days later it was gone. I was feeling bummed! But the next week I happened to be in another part of town for something and decided to stop by the other CC. The only Blu-ray left, sitting there waiting for me to pick it up, was Lost Season 3, now 70% off!

The folks who rang it up freaked out, they thought it was incredible that I was getting it on Blu for just $30.

prepare to be jealous !!

how it happened. i place the order thanks to the regular hot deals thread for those for 26.96 and that night i lose my credit card. i call into the bank and they allow a 27 dollar pass amount for that deal but amazon doesnt take it. i call and ask to speak to a manager bc the regular people are a$$es. i tell the manager its only fair that he honor that price because that was the price online and i wasnt trying to cheat anyone but i lost my credit card and did give an alternate card. he says ok but then when i review it they took ANOTHER 10 off. so yea got em both right now sitting on my shelf for 16 !!!!

Here's how:

I was walking through the electronics dept. and saw the box setup for the Body of Lies DVDs. Well at the very top of the display, they had the Blu-rays, followed by the 2-Disc DVDs, and then the single disc DVDs underneath that. However, looking closely, they had a hand-written sign taped to this display, that said Body Of Lies $19.93 Feb. 17 Only. Not thinking twice about it, I grabbed the blu-ray copy, and went to the cash (which was right next to the display mind you).

She scanned it in at $29.83. So I showed her the sign on the box display, and with her manager standing right with her, she had to give it to me at that price. But it gets better!

Because it rang up in the register at a higher-than-advertised price... the Scanning Code of Practice law in Canada says that it's free up to a value of $10. I tapped on the sign as she was going to price match. So the clerk looked at her manager, and sure enough, another $10 off the price!

So all in all, I walked outta Wal-mart with Body of Lies blu-ray for $11 with tax. Gotta watch your signs people!
I bought Body Of Lies off ebay sealed with free shipping for $12 last week But today I got the Bourne Collection for $39 from my local pawn shop
