Monster inc. official release? - Blu-ray Forum

Im hearing different release dates and delays. Whats the official date for this? My wife going to Japan this fall and going to bring me back this movie unless its released before then. Of course, with other unreleased titles as well.

anyways..can anyone please confirm the date, thanks.

How is a pixar film out on BD in Japan already? I can see Dragonball Z but not Monsters Inc.?

No, there is no confirmed date for the USA, it is thought to be sometime in December, Over here in the UK however it is believed to be the 27th of July

What does that have to do with anything? There are different distributers in Japan and various countries in Europe than in the US. So its not just Japanese based movies that Japan gets before us

I would just assume a Disney movie would come out in North America first, if there is a worldwide release out in Japan/Australia a day or two before.

I would imagine it's going to be released at the same time the Up Blu-ray is, which is probably around the Holidays.

Tokyo Disneyland has a new Monsters Inc. ride.

I suspect Monster Inc. on Blu is being pushed back to counter Monsters vs. Aliens when it comes to video. Dreamworks and Pixar -- not good friends.

hmm, a catalog title vs a New release....I wonder who will win?

Also I am guessing the upcoming UK release will be region free and that may be a good direction to go in if you cant wait.

Paradoxally, the DBZ movies are out on Blu in the US but not in Japan. Crazy world, huh? As mentioned, the reason is that the distributors differ from country to country and each follows his own release schedule as they see best fit.

Japanese version of Monsters Inc. is Region Free, so this is a good indication the other versions will be the same. Can't wait till June to get my copy.
