Australia Confused about firmware updating

I went to my local video store and it had a sign up saying in order to download the latest firmware for your blu-ray player you have to get it from this site... i've found the latest one i need https://www.blu-ray.com/firmware/firmware.php?id=19 but isn't this only for American units not Australian?

Perhaps try looking up your player's product support page on the manufacturer's website, making sure you choose your region for either the product's specific page, or the specific firmware download.

They do a good job on this site to keep the firmware updates on the up and up, but it's not easy to keep up with everything. On this site, it's mainly a courtesy. Definitely check your manufacturer's specific website.

Good luck!

Hi, fellow Aussie here(Perth WA)
I have a Sony BDP-S300 and get all updates from their website, and a Panasonic BD-30 from which I get the relevant F/W updates at the Panasonic website,Asia/Pacific region(region B).
Whenever you get F/W updates make sure you get the one for your "region"(Aust is region B)
With the Panasonic site I have found that I can only get access using Internet Explorer, Firefox can't access it.
Most Bluray disks now come with warning advice that your player should have the latest F/W version available to ensure best playability...
Welcome to the world of Bluray!!!

Did they actually have a sign directing you to www.blu-ray.com?

That's free promo for this site!
