Secondary Vintage System - Blu-ray Forum

So I've decided to have a secondary system to listen to radio and the odd cd basically so I don't have to turn on the main system with the amps and everything. Have been looking for a vintage unit and found this Marantz. It's only 26wpc but what I'll do is move the Paradigm ADPs back to the rear for a 5.1 system and use the Paradigm Atoms with the new Vintage Marantz.

I also found a PS1 scph-1001 so will be using it as the cd player and see if it lives up to all the hype. Hopefully everything will be here early next week and I can play while on holidays

After I read about the PSX being able to replace a $6,000 CD player, I started to look into it. It turns out it can sound good after a couple modifications. I have yet to try mine out, but my PlayStation is one of the newer models.

Nice find Luc! Maybe I should dig up my old Pioneer SA-9500II Integrated Amp (80w/p/c/) and see if I can get it fixed.

Thanks John, you should dig up the Pio - that's a nice looking amp, there's a guy on ebay with all kinds of vintage equipment, looks to be from North York, might be worth an email to see if he does repairs for others or just himself. At any rate he could probably point you to someone who does do repairs

He's easy to find as he has the most vintage stuff available when you opt to search Canada only --- Just checked ebay all his auctions must have ended over the weekend. He had about 10 postings last week and he's from North York - I'll keep an eye out for him this week and PM you a link if I find it

that's totally "old school"....Nice find.

Out of curiousity,do you know if thats from the 70's or 80's?

The wood makes it look like its from the 70's.
