Did you not get an owners manual? You can download a copy from the manuf website (usually) that will detail everything you need to know and do.
What make/model player are you working with?

If all else fails you can call the manufacturer of your bluray player and they will send you a firmware upgrade disc.

On the link you just posted, there's update instructions. Just follow those instructions, and you'll be fine.

The full link to the download file is http://www.curtismathes.com/brupdate...00D-090108.zip

Then you follow the instructions to burn the file on a CD-ROM on your computer (I assume your computer can burn CDs, as that's standard on every computer the last 5 years).

You have to download the firmware from the site you linked, then unzip it. Then you need to burn that file to disc. Then print out the Update Instructions PDF and follow them step by step.

Here is the update file.

here are the instructions.

You need to use some burning software to burn the firmware iso (file in the zip file in the first link) to a cd and then follow the directions in the pdf carefully.

If that's not the information you're asking for, I'm afraid I don't understand what the trouble is.

Edit: Seems I've been beaten.

Don't know if this is the issue or not, but could his firewall or anti-virus software be causing the problem?
