Default Watchable "chick-flicks" on Blu-ray?

By watchable I mean ones that arent so sappy and cliche that a dude could sit there and watch it without too much agony.

I ask because ive recently started a relationship and each time she has come over and if we decided to watch a movie, she comments that all my movies are "guy" movies. this makes sense as ive been single for the last year or so and bought all my movies with myself in mind

however id like to diversify and add some movies to my collection that might be more gender neutral, or even "chick flick" material as long as i would find it watchable

I have Jerry Maguire already and i love that movie to death, but i dont consider it a chick flick to be honest

any ideas?

Ghost is a really good chick flick. It actually gets quite dark as well. Meet Joe Black(somewhat chick flick) is good too. If I had to pick two chick flicks that don't make me want to inflict pain on someone, those are them.

I see some of you guys either have a loose definition or don't understand exactly what a "chick flick" is. A chick-flick is a movie that appeals mainly to the female or gay male (except me) demographic and as a gay man I'm honestly ashamed at some of the movies you straight guys have been watching....

Death Race - Lot's of chicks in that one...

Seriously, any chick flicks with Betty White in them - The Proposal, You Again - I enjoyed both of those, and Betty really steals the show - and I'm one to avoid chick flicks like the plague...

This thread reminds me of how lucky I am to have a chick who doesn't like 'chick flicks.'

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind has already been mentioned. I have nothing against romance movies, but most are bad because they are so similar and full of cliches. ESOTSM is one of the best I have ever seen.

I don't know if Blue Valentine has been mentioned, but that is a great movie that I think 'chicks' would like. It is a very depressing movie though.

man.. luckily my relationship is in the marriage category..

I've tried to convince my wife that there is no need to get romantic, girly movies
on blu-ray.. they're best for sci-fi, action, man movies.. lol

so far I have 2 chick-flicks.. The Notebook and Dear John.. I was able to sit
through them..

maybe get some family movies from Disney if she enjoys them?!?

my wife has already mentioned she wants Bridesmaids when it comes out later
this month..

I was going to recommend this. I wrote it off as a "chick flick" when it came out, but after watching Atonement and Hanna (also by Joe Wright), I went back and watched it. Terrific movie, and the Blu-ray has great PQ too. Keira Knightley is very good in it, plus she's eye candy for the guys.

How the Hell does Kill Bill get brought up twice in the first 20 posts of a chick flick thread? Boy, you guys are nuts.

Bridesmaids comes out this Fall, and I'm sure it will look great on Blu Ray.

It was funnier than any other movie I've seen this year, and it's definitely a chick movie.

Any romantic comedy starring Tom Hanks. Not all of these are out on blu-ray yet....I'm looking at you Splash. But there is Big, You've Got Mail, and Sleepless in Seattle, and maybe a few more I can't think of right now. Big is my favorite.
