Help! Sony STR-DH800 or Pioneer VSX-919H-K - Blu-ray Forum

I have owned the 919 for about 3 weeks now and am very happy with it.

first off i will tell you that almost no one on this site likes sony anything but TV's so your poll will be heavily biased.

In all honesty, with an entry level receiver like these 2 units are, I would just listen to them see which you prefer in terms of SQ, and which has the features you like.

I agree with Callas01,I say go with the Pioneer.

I have the older model dg820 basically the same as the dh 800.
Sounds great but I also have an older pioneer that still works today without any problems either. Don't think you can go wrong with either.
