Is Pioneer bdp-51fd better or the Pionner 120?

Which one is faster?

you can get it for $128 shipped from authorized dealer brand new sealed from 6th ave electronics.com

that in itself should answer the question

I bought the Pioneer bdp-51fd at BB last week for $134.99 (my fourth BD players)... the picture quality on 1080 @ 24fps is excellent ... The only draw back is that , compare to any other BD player, this machine is very slow ( I meant ultra-slow) to boost ... but for the price , I can't complaint ( original MSRP was $599)

I was at Best Buy last night and they still had the sign up for the bdp-51fd but there wasnt any players out there so I asked if they had any in the back and they didnt

Can anyone get one from their BB and ship it to me please!!!

that price match for DP51FD do not work for me, some said it work for them but not me i got nothign but decline they just don't like for some reason.

the 120 is just a rebagded sharp, go read about them on avsforum.com the guys werent very happy with the 120. get the 51 or save up and buy the newer 320

BB does not match price on clearance, this is YMMV and B&M only ... you just have to look harder on other BB stores

Just picked up a second BDP-51FD for a spare. Best Buy here still had a stack of them. For 149.99 I couldn't pass it up. It does load a bit slower than most, but I've never had a problem with my original one.

I completely agree!! The savings you would realize by getting the 120 is not workth getting a 120. Get a 51 if you can find one on sale at BB, or save a little more and get the 320 with profile 2.0. I'm not sure how much faster the 120/320 loads over the 51/05 series, but the 51/05 does deliver outstanding picture quality.

For those who gets the Pioneer BDP-51FD, if your firmware is not the 3.2 version, you need to call Pioneer to get up-grade disc or download the up-grade software at pioneerelectronics.com ... Cheers

Tang, I'll look em up at my local BBs to see if they have any. If you are serious I have no issues shipping it to you, if I find one. Will keep you posted.

I might just keep my oppo since it can play any region dvd and blu-ray plus does ok for media file not the best, but the speed is insane fast. Eventhough i do had a 60gb ps3 but it way to nosy when view blu-ray and use a lot of watts.

Tang, a couple days ago, the local bestbuy here had some 51fd's on the shelf, If you don't find one by tomorrow, I can swing by and get one for you if they still have them. Let me know.

Btw, OP, definately get the 51fd and avoid the 120. I have 2 51fd's and aside from the slow loading, it's a great player IMHO.
