Personally, for longer runs, I would want the better rated cable, and that appears to be the second one because it is 22 AWG.

I am running a 50 foot 22 AWG HDMI from Monoprice and it works like a charm, so my rec goes to the second one.

Go for the fatty.

Beware though - they aren't very flexible, so don't plan on any sharp bends, and plan for it @ the back of each device.

Yes, fatter the cable it is better. That means a lower AWG number. Go for the 22AWG for a 25' run. If it is 10' a thinner cable is okay but for longer runs it is wiser to go for a thicker cable.

The only problem with those thick HDMI cables is that they are inflexible. Be careful not to damage your HDMI output on the receiver or the input on the TV/projector. It happened to me as I was trying to adjust my projector. The thick Monoprice HDMI cable snapped out of the HDMI input of the projector and damaged the pins. I had to send the projector back to Epson for a replacement.

I've got a 35' HDMI cable to have my Satellite run to my Computer Monitor, simultaneously with my TV which is hooked up via Component, works like a charm. Go for the thicker cable, but as others have said, beware, they are not very flexible.

Just don't bend over for Monster Cables, they will violate your wallet, and leave you feeling like an ass knowing you could have the EXACT same quality from Monoprice.

There are a few misnomers being tossed around in here.

Just to be clear, Monster Cable actually does produce much higher quality HDMI cables than anything you can get from Monoprice. That's never been the argument.

The argument has always been, and will be for a very long time, that you don't need their higher quality cables to transfer a digital signal.

I'm not bringing that argument in here. If anyone would like to jump in the ring on that one, there's a sticky called 'HDMI Cables'. Head on in. I just wanted to clear up the misinformation that a few people are regurgitating in this thread.

Trust me the Monster HDMI cables make the 1s and 0s better because it has like gold wires and stuff. And remember $$=quality.

They could have some marginal improvements in some rare cases but for all practical purposes I expect non-monster would be as good as monster if the thickness of the wire is same and the construction quality is similar.

Go ahead and get your HDMI 25ft from monoprice and be prepare to damage the pins connectors of your HDMI inputs of your TV or device. Ive been there before. It may be cheaper to pay less for this HDMI from monoprice but not cheaper to replace the unit youre connecting it to. Stick with better brand cables. Doesnt necessary needs to be Monster Cable everyone here talking about. There are others that tend to be more flexible. Your choice. I dont want to see you post a message saying "I broke my HDMI pins what should I do!??" in the next couple of weeks.

Or, if you don't want to worry about bending a thick cable, go with the thinner one and use a HDMI repeater.

Or get a right angle adapter. I have this on my TV so my cable is not putting pressure between the TV and wall.
