Default Sony HW15

Basically, it's an HW10 with twice the contrast (and Advanced Iris 3 vs 2 ).

Brochure here

Prices £2000 in UK and €2500 in EU.

The brochure states that it features an "Anamorphic Zoom Mode" for 2.35:1 content. I wonder if this is a "zoom and shift memory" feature similar to the Panasonic PT-AE3000, or rather a vertical scaler?

The former would make it a direct competitor for the AE3000 (and bump it to the top of my wish list). The latter would still give it a definite edge over the HW10, which I believe didn't have this feature. (I think you had to move up to the VW60 to get the scaler.) Of course an external anamorphic lens would still be required, but at least an external scaler would not.
