When your old iPod gets connected to a new computer, it will give the new user the option to wipe the data off the iPod to make it work on the new computer. You can have 1 iTunes/Computer to multiple iPods. But you can't have multiple iTunes and computers to one iPod. If there is a truth to the contrary of what I am saying, it's probably by hacking or some unauthorized software, and I am not sure what that would be.

You can have the purchased/redeemed digital copy on multiple iPods.

For digital copes that are rented from the store, you can only have them on one iPod.

You can also have an iPod pull from multiple PC/Mac libraries on different computers. However, to do this, you must choose manual sync when connecting it to each PC for the first time. Bear in mind that with manual sync, you will have to drag and drop your files into the iPod. Its a slower process especially with large number of playlists, videos, podcasts, and applications/games.
