The new one for $299 with more memory or the old one for $349 with an extra controller, Sony cables but only 80mb? Buying my first PS3. Thanks in advance for your help.

New one. Bigger HD space for less money. You could always get an extra controller for $45 later.

The new one hands down since I'm assuming the 80GB is not a PS2 BC version. Even then, I have only played a PS2 game once since I bought my PS3 over a year ago anyway...

Original 80GB yes, MGS4 bundle 80GB yes, newest 80GB no. But keep in mind it's not 100% backwards compatibility only the 60GB and 20GB are.

Its got software emulation like the xbox 360. It only has a limited number of titles.

I would easily go with the new one, way better deal in my opinion. An extra controller shouldn't raise the price by that much.

You can buy a controller for less than $50, so why would you buy the old model with 40GB less hard drive space for more money?...

Doesn't a new one with an extra controller = same price or better? Controller is $45-50

I was going to mention that lol. So it's not really a matter of $ but more of a which PS3 is better, PS3 slim FTW.
