Red face Whoops! Duplicate Blu-ray movies?

I purchase 4 to 6 Blu-ray movies per month on average and most of these are still in the wrapper.
I was organizing my Blu-ray movies last night and I came across 2 copies of "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly"!

Has anyone else accidentally purchased 2 copies of the same Blu-ray movie?
Do I need an Intervention???

I have two copies of Cars. My son destroyed the first copy I bought, well just the slip cover, cover art, and case. The movie still plays just fine. I bought the second on sale and have it on display.

I have had a few moments where I picked up a movie I already owned, but quickly put it back after checking out my collection on this site. What a great feature.

While I had ordered The Good, The Bad & The Ugly at Amazon, I nearly bought it at Borders on their 50% sale. I had them get it out of the case and thankfully I had told my brother I had ordered. He reminded that I was already getting it from Amazon. I put it back and got Raging Bull instead.

That's one of the reasons I love this site. I was always able to remember what I had bought on DVD but now things can get a little fuzzy.

I had accidently gotten 2 copies of Step Brothers. I didn't pay for the one, it was just somehow in there. I sold it though. I don't have too many movies that I could accidently buy more than one though haha

Yep, I've done that a couple of times. Once you hit a certain amount of titles it can be difficult to remember if you picked something up yet or not. I think Memento was the last title I've done that with.

I usually wind up giving the extra copy to a friend.

My Dad always does this, and he's not old. LOL! In his defense, he probably has over 600 DVDs, and with that many it could get confusing. I've never done it myself. I've watched every movie I own and therefor I always remember if I have a movie or not. I just don't forget easily.

Has never happened to me and there are months where I buy 10 or so blu's a month.

I keep track of my blu-ray collection with software, like DVD Profiler. I keep my Blu's organized in the three tabs: Owned, Ordered and Wishlist. The same disc (UPC) can't be added twice so that already helps prevent doubles. Also, before ordering I always check in my software with the filter and when I order, I immediately move the disc from wishlist to the ordered tab.

With that simple system, I've never had any doubles.

It did happen however that a shop accidentally shipped twice the same order, but that's a different story

I always know what I have before purchasing. If I ever get a duplicate of a Blu-ray movie, dvd, cd, video game, and so on it would be intentional.
