Default Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion

Did anyone download the trailer for this off of PSN yesterday?

I checked it out, and though it was short, and likely not finished yet, I thought the character models could have looked better and the demo stage area where the trailer was filmed or made from looked just like the stages previously used in the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance. I'm assuming, that this game is being developed predominantly as multi-platform, as was the first one, and that only a little bit of effort will actually go into making the PS3 version look good; most likely will look practically mirror image to whatever they put on X360. Personally I'm glad to see that it looks like Hulk will be in the next game, but hopefully Microsoft doesn't buy out every contingent of exclusivity rights that keep extra characters or DLCs from showing up on the PS3.

Looked horrible. I deleted it from my hard-drive right after I finished watching it.

The graphics and gameplay looked like they were made for the PS2.

Unless I see a much better trailer in the future, I don't even have plans to rent this as of now.

Actually I enjoyed the first one quite a bit. As early as it is, I don't expect huge graphical leaps yet so early in the development cycle, and the PS3 version of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 1 looks miles and away better than its Xbox 360 counterpart since it runs at 1080p.

I used to play this in coop mode with my son, which is really cool. Howeverthe graphics and gameplay could be a lot better. They really need to put some effort into improving this before release. My hopes are not high.

Yay finally an update, kinda. A new trailer for the game!

Still no release date though. :-(

I really enjoyed the first game, I hope this one is more of the same.

That trailer accomplished 2 things. 1 - seems that the story is based on the Marvel Civil War storyline and 2 - the CG cut scenes look nice :P

I noticed they didn't put the word "Fusion" in that trailer as well. Wonder if they dropped that from the title. Personally I hope they scrapped the whole Fusion idea as well.

Pretty sure they didn't. The whole idea behind it was to make the combos more fantastic, and the Storm/Human Torch fusion looked pretty awesome.

And I love that they're using the Civil War story line...now as long as that other system doesn't get nine exclusive characters this time around...

The new trailer was pretty cool; I will probably buy it but not because it looks like a great game. I don't think it will be much better than the first; however, I love Marvel

Anyone else think that it was weird that when it said "More Heroes" or w/e it didn't show anybody new? I hope that they keep all the previous ones and add at least a few more to the roster, with DLC on the PS3 this time around.

Edit: Oh and Heart Collector, did you change your icon or is there a 3rd person with a Deadpool icon?

I agree. They could throw out the whole Ultimate Alliance title and go straight Civil War.

There's no trophy list yet, and that usually comes a few months before the game... So I wouldn't count on it Q3/4.

I think I might have misunderstood what was meant by Fusion when the game was originally annouced. I thought I was fusing characters together to create new characters, or the same character but with 2 sets of powers - their original one and the character's they fused with.

If it's just about making combos of moves, than that's cool. Keep that in. I don't see how that warrants a subtitle to the game though.

Agreed. I don't understand why they wouldn't Civil War in the title somehow. I'd say it's popularity would help drive some sales.

Hell, yea. I've been been meaning to change it again, either back to Moon knight or the Chatterer. I went with Deadpool, and suddenly I realize how many there already was.

Nope, Fusion is from a greater focus on team-up moves. I think in the first one two characters actually just hit someone with their powers at once and it got a subtle acknowledgment, whereas this time two powers are "fused" and actually gets its own animation. Like I said Storm and Torch looked awesome. (Also, I like Invisible Woman/Hulk's "hamster ball of doom" as I like to call it. )

M:UA was the 2nd PS3 game I bought. It's also the only PS3 game I've traded in at Gamestop. Even my nephews were bored of with by the second level

I love MARVEL, but the trailer looked pretty bad. Hopefully, they pick up their game with this one, as the last one wasn't as good as X-Men Legend I or II. If they bring back the RPG elements, I think that this will do well. If not...

I can't wait for this! The first one was my first PS3 game (well, it was a tie with Resistance: FOM ), and I loved it!

The fusion between Wolverine and Iron Man was just INTENSE. Imagine that kind of sequence in a film...
