Default What Was Your First Job....

Simple question what was your first job...

Mine was in the late 80's working stock at a local variety store in Queens,NY...

Its was a small store that sold any and everything, even had to pack the stuff out on the sidewalk when we open and then put them back in the store when we close...the worst was pulling down the heavy gates in the night.
Lasted about a year, at that time the hourly pay was about 3.50 to 3.75 an hr

First job was working at Edwards Movie theaters when I was 15. HOYL CRAP, that was a bad job. Especially since I started during the summer.

Now I work at Target Non-stop working, day flys by.

First FT job was as a grocery stocker in a small family-run Italian grocery store. Worked 6 days a week and made $40! Talk about slave-labour, even in those days. Job lasted about a year and then I scored a job as an office-boy for Polydor Records. I was in freagin' heaven. Worked there for about 4 years.

Hey Gar,

You could almost say that was the case. It was my Dad actually who turned me on to music and vinyl, but working at Polydor certainly heightened that interest. A lot of my vinyl was bought during my stint there. Actually, a lot of it was free or very nominally priced.

Off to work! Later buddy!

I was a dishwasher at a wedding hall when I was 15. I hated it so much, but you don't have many options at 15.

Video rental store. Mom and pop shop. Paid under the table and I was 17. After training me that first day he gave me the keys to the store and asked me to close LOL.

Loved that job. All the free movie and porn rentals I wanted, I could eat while working, I could even put a not on the door if I needed to use the bathroom or grab some lunch.

I wanted to buy the store but there was no way I could raise the funds and he sold it to someone who just wasn't the same.

Had a paid internship under Robert Muldoon in Kenya, learning about the predatory behaviours of African big cats, in my last few years of high school. I left, however, when this short old man came up to him, talking about how he needed a game warden for a new preserve or something he was building in an island off of Costa Rica. I decided I wanted to pursue college instead of continuing my field training, so despite Muldoon's offers that I come along to learn, I went back to Miami.

Did you get to fire the SPAS 12?

I started out as a dishwasher under the table @ age 13. I worked @ a German restaurant and deli. They butchered pigs etc. and we used to have to bag the pig heads..don't ask me why lol But we used to play football with the heads...crazy stuff. If I was still there it would probably get a good amount of hits on youtube.
