Default Fahrenheit 451 - AMAZING FILM

Wow.. I just caught this on TCM HD.. first it looked wonderful and it captivated me from the opening moments of the film. Just a breathtaking remarkable film. For sure an underrated gem (going by the IMDB rating). I usually have this rule were I have to see a film twice before it makes my Top 100 list... well this film just jumped ahead of almost all of them and went to 10th... simply amazing.. so have you seen this?

I liked it too, but not that much. The film supports an absolutely gorgeous Bernard Herrmann score.

YES, it is a great film and I envy you being able to see it in HD! I wish Dish Network would add TCM to their HD list because it is one of my favorite channels.

Nope--TNT was supposed to be the "prestige" Turner channel, before that turned into basketball and cable series...

Used to be, American Movie Classics was "the" channel for old vintage studio restorations...Until Ted lost one of his colorization battles in court, and all of a sudden wanted to show us how much he simply LOVED to restore classic old movies!
Twenty years later, TMC's now the only channel on the lineup most of us ever watch.

yeah I LOVE IT... TCM has been one my favorite channels for about a year now and one of the only ones I will watch films on (everything is UNCUT, same with IFCHD)... I was just browsing their site at the next 2 months of movies and it is going to be AWESOME... February is spotlighting Award winners so films such as Ben-Hur, West Side Story, Notorious, Titanic and so many more great ones will be on in HD... the only thing is with lack of commercials it makes it hard to take BR breaks (as I like to listen to Osbournes take on the films as well)... also watched 2010 last night for the first time on the channel and tonight is Kubricks classic Lolita!

Me thinks you have been watching too much of Reese Witherspoon my friend because Mr. Turner not only started TBS but also TCM, TNT, CNN, CNN-HLN, truTV, WPCH, NBA TV, Cartoon Network, CNN International and Court TV just to name a few of the things he owns. He also owned MGM/UA and I don't know if he directly owns MGM HD but he does own most of the film library shown on that channel. [He owns all of the MGM library, dating back to pre-merger days, as well as the pre-1950 Warner Bros. catalog, the entire RKO library, and a good share of United Artists's own backlist.] Clearly he is a VERY WEALTHY man

I once saw it on VHS a long, long time ago. The picture quality was pretty bad and I watched it after reading the novel, I can't say I was impressed with it.

If you like to read, get the book.Thought it was miles better than the movie. But it is a nice twist to the 1984 scenario
