Default Cuboid

Just when I think i'm stuck I finally get it.

That should be the motto for this game. It's pretty cool. I knew what it was before I got it though, I have the same game on my iPhone... If you like puzzle games, but not the tetris type, you'll like this game.

It has trophies, and it can be played casually. You don't have to play and play for hours on end, unless you want.

As the levels progress they get a little harder with switches that need to be pressed to open up your path.

Cuboid is a stunning 3D puzzle game (available soon tomorrow for $9.99) in which players navigate ancient ruins and lush environments, maneuvering a rectangular block through mystical exits. Cuboid will bend your mind with its addictive puzzles and engage the senses with amazing graphics and soothing music, immersing you in a surrealistic puzzle world. We at Creat Studios and TikGames are pleased to offer players 66 twisted levels with premium packs coming soon that will include additional levels and a custom level creator.

I saw that and was thinking about getting it... is it so casual that the wife will like it? that's always a plus for me if she likes things

yeah. She can play one level then stop for 3 days, come back and play one or two more. it's seriously the most casual game i've played. Each level can take between 10 secs to 2 minutes or so at most (so far)...

it's fun, but not demanding...

It's a PSN exclusive that just came out last Thursday. I'm not sure if it's in Europe's store.

I have this game. It's pretty neat. Not "terribly" difficult as far as puzzles go, but there's some really tricky puzzles late in the game on Expert difficulty.

The trophies in the game are pretty straightforward - depending on how good at puzzle games you are, you may or may not find them challenging. I had little problem earning all of them over the space of a couple of days, aside from one hidden one
[Show spoiler]which requires you to play the game for 8 hours, which I haven't done yet
.

The basic gameplay is that you have a rectangular 2x1 block that you can tip over/flip/roll across a grid. Your goal is to get that 2x1 block standing vertically on the exit square without falling off. As you get further into the game, new tricks are added like teleportation pads, switches that you have to hit, and wooden tiles that collapse if you try to stand on them vertically.

This is easily one of the most approachable puzzle games I've ever played. Well executed, pretty, and functional.

The hidden one you have there is actually no issue, i did it by mistake, go to bed and leave it on the controller must not have power save turned on.

It just keeps counting indefinately.

Cuboid DLC Available Today

Hey, everyone. I’m thrilled to report that the Cuboid DLC will officially be released today in the US PSN store. For complete details on all the options available, please check out my previous post.

As you may or may not have heard, we had been experiencing some technical difficulties with the Cuboid DLC Level Editor since its release in the EU. I’m happy to let everyone know that the bugs have been squashed, and everything is working now as it should be. We here at Creat Studios and TikGames sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but hope you will all agree that the Cuboid Level Editor was well worth the wait!

question: Do you have to download the booster packs to get a trophy for rating levels?

Because even though I haven't bought the booster pack or the level editor, I am able to download and play and rate the levels.

I've rated five levels and still have not gotten the trophy for rating three levels.

Wondering if maybe the trophies only are awarded after you buy the levels.

I upgraded to the new update for Cuboid which adds the trophy pack and the ability to download the custom levels, but have not paid for any of the DLC.

Question: Does this differ that much from the free flash games all over the internet? I played the demo of this and it seemed pretty darn similar. I'm just curious as many of you seem to be excited about this.

I personally find the game frustrating just because I can't spend that much time on a puzzle without getting irritated at myself.

don't know if anyone else has had this happen, but I just went to load up Cuboid to upload another level, and it said "Save Data Corrupted" and when it loaded up it was as if I never had played the game before.

No levels had been passed, no SAVED LEVELS THAT I HAVE CREATED, and even more strange, two levels that I had uploaded are no longer listed on the download levels server...thing.

How can my save data being corrupted, affect levels that were already uploaded to the internet?

And why is it that two of my levels (the only two which had been downloaded and rated) are both missing from online?

Weirdness.

Default Uploaded Cuboid levels keep disappearing off of online!?!!

Okay this is officially starting to make me mad.

I've uploaded a grand total of about seven levels. Maybe six.

The other day when I had already uploaded about five, I went to check on the stats, but when I started the game the save file had been corrupted (somehow) and all my games were deleted off of my HD.

So I checked online, and there were only two listed (not the two that had been downloaded and rated, mind you).

So I just created some more levels and uploaded them, and went about my merry day.

Then I just log in today and there's once again two levels up there.

What the hell is going on?

I'm officially done with Cuboid now. This is beyond ridiculous.

The gamesaves keep getting corrupted (only after downloading the booster pack, never before) and the levels I create keep disappearing off the server where they have all of them.

If you find one of mine and hit SQUARE to show all by me, at last look it only showed three, despite my having created seven or eight.

Until the creators of the game release a patch or something that fixes all the problems this is causing, I'm done with this game and won't buy another from them.

EDIT: And now at 9:25pm there's only TWO of my levels on there.

smh

Yeah the same is happening to me. I've had three levels disappear. At one stage I had the two top rated levels, and one was also the most downloaded - they've disappeared.
Some levels by other users I've downloaded, which were also highly rated, have disappeared too I have noticed.
There's definitely a major problem there, affecting a few people it seems. Hopefully they sort it out soon.

I luckily haven't had the same problem with corrupt save games yet. Will be backing up my save game straight after posting this though.
