Default Netflix Bluray Waiting Period

It has been nearly a year since the last time Netflix increased their Blu-ray Subscription Fee. Since that time, do you notice a shorter waiting time for Blu-ray titles?

I notice they still practice throttling even though they were sued about it before. Plus with the new Warner deal, I expect even more delays.

If Warner is going to impose a four week window on Netflix then they should offer new-to-video titles on their Netflix Instant streaming option. At least, that is what I had hoped the Netflix/Warner deal was going to allow. Instead, it just opened the floodgates for older catalog titles with very few from the last four years on the Instant Streaming.

Oh well, I am not cancelling my subscription since I just spend $18 a month and that saves me a lot of money on being burned on blind buys.

If I have no movies at home on a Monday before the "new release" comes out, I seem to always get the new movie on Tuesdays release day. If I miss this window of opportunity, It can take several months to get the new movie. It really ticks me off sometimes, but I will keep my 18 dollar membership as well as it is cheaper than blind buying.

Every new release I get it the day before or the day of the release. This has been true every single week for the past month or so and I loveee it.
However, Netflix is gettin' expensive, which is why I went down to 2 Discs Out At a Time.

Yep I was getting sick of that, combined with the Warner window delay caused me to switch to Blockbuster. I have a store literally within walking distance so I simply go in on Tuesdays and exchange my online title for the New Releases. No more >Month long waits.

How're they worse?

For me, I get new releases on or before the day they're released. I return them and they get it within 24 hours and then ship the next one THAT day and then I get that one the following day. I've never had one time I had to wait and I've been with Netflix for around a year.

That really sucks...
Well that's a really popular flick and they're actually pretty well stocked. Try not having ANYTHING in your Q except the movie you want. Gamefly is like this, I'm not sure if it'll effect Netflix as well, and they'll ship it to you as first priority over those with things in their Q.

I have been waiting for A Night at the Museum 2 since it came out and I am still waiting. It came out 12/01/09 and it is now 01/23/10 almost 8 weeks---WAY TOO LONG.

Do you have any other movies in your Q?
Try e-mailing or calling them to see what's wrong.

It was up on top the day it came out with very few below. It has always been passed over.

I have been considering trying BlockBuster.

It passes over because there are other movies they'll send you INSTEAD. They'll only prioritize you if that's the only thing on your Q, or the only thing that's available. Whatever they have more of, they'll send to you. It doesn't matter what number it is. That only matters if they have a LOT of copies in storage. I recommend taking EVERYTHING off your list that has already been released other than the movie you want. THEN give it a day or two and see what happens! I do this and I always get the movies on my Q, even if it says Low in availability.

Night at the Museum 2? IMO, I thought it was better than the original. Its worth a blind buy if Netflix is taking too long.

I never saw the 2nd one, but I saw the first one and just dreaded sitting through it. I can't stand Ben Stiller. If you liked the first, I hear from those who DID like it, you'll like the 2nd.

They've gotten worse for me. I used to get new releases within a week or so, or around release. Now I wait months, sometimes longer to get one. Some I gave up on, Battlestar Galactica:The Plan, for example, aired on TV and they still hadn't sent it to me, and I'd had that thing in my queue since before it came out. There are a few other titles like that as well. I actually want to complain to Netflix because it's gotten so bad recently.

I've had Inglourious Basterds at the top of my queue before it came out and I still haven't gotten to see it yet. It still says very long wait. I got Hurt Locker right behind it now and it looks like it will take a long time to see that as well.

I like Night at the Museum 1 only because I did not spend the $$$ to buy a Blu. I picked it up cheap as a DVD. Looks like I will do the same for the 2 and keep a matched set.
