Default I just got an HD 32" LG TV... is 720p good for 32" and under?

as the topic says... lol I just got an LCD LG 32 inch 720p (1080i) TV, now i heard that 32 inches and smaller, yo ucannot really tell a difference between 1080p and 720p..

Blu ray movies and Ps3 look Beautiful on it.. but i see some 32 inches with 1080p???

should i stick with mine?

Stick with what you've got.

At 32", you can't see any difference at probably any distance. You've got to be at 40" before you even notice at close distances, IMHO.

I also have a 32" Tosh REGZA 720p in my bedroom. You will not see any appreciable difference on a set this size. After 40" spend the extra on a
1080p. For now... save your money and enjoy. BD still looks terrific and better than DVD. Actually, my HD OTA (over the air) antenna feed to this room for local channels looks gorgeous.

EDIT: don't fall for the elitist "i'm not in the HD crowd cuz i've only got a 720p". That's resevered for people with small peckers. 720p is just fine.

I would even argue that a 42" set isn't worth the 1080p premium. I see a lot of 720p tv's outperforming 1080p sets. But 50" and up, there is no choice really. Of course this is all relative to how close you sit to your TV, I sit 7' from my 65" and I would not have settled for 720p

I just bought the LG 42 inch 1080p and I had a Panasonic 44 inch DLP.....let me tell you, going down 2 inches and up to LCD and 1080p was absolutely stunning. I wasnt expecting a large upgrade since most folks say it needs to be 47 inches to see a difference, but at 42 inches it is CONSIDERABLY better, but this may also be because the contrast ratio is sick as is the sharpness of the LG 42 incher

There's no such thing as a 1080i LCD, they are inherently progressive. It will accept a 1080i signal, which is scaled to the panel's native resolution, usually 1366x768p.

I'm very happy with my Sony 32" Bravia (KDL-V32XBR2). And, it's ISF calibrated.
