I have First Blood, the PQ and AQ is pretty good on this, for how old the movie is I think Lionsgate did a a wonderful job.
Here is the site review, its the same movie in the box set.. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/First...ray/61/#Review Rambo..PQ is excellent and we all know how insane the AQ is on this one. |

Unfortunately I also only have First-Blood and the newest one.... I'm not a big enough fan to justify buying the other two since I have them on DVD....
First Blood looks really good.... much better than the DVD.... anyone who says otherwise is heavily medicated...... The newest one...... AQ is worth every penny..... I must admit I've never seen it on DVD though, since it came out on BD so recently. |

I have all of them and I was very pleased with all-- as has been mentioned already-- First Blood looks amazing!
parts 2 and 3 look very good as well-- I don't see any reason to ever buy these movies again-- the blu-ray's are huge upgrades from any of the past (and countless) dvd releases... |

Wouldn't call them reference quality, but I remember they were fairly decent transfers. Probably the most faithful too. I think each disc had plenty of extras. So the box set should be well worthwhile.

The transfers are all great, for the age of the films. The newest one shines.
My only problem with the set is the 4th (newer) film. It doesn't come with the even newer Directors Cut that came out a month ago (as a separate release). This is by far, my preferred version of the film. So I went out and bought each title individually. Which ended up coming out cheaper. |

The Blu versions all look leaps better than their DVD counterparts. 99% of anything on Blu usually outshines the DVD version by a long shot. I'm shocked that people still ask the question, "Is this or that worth upgrading onto Blu over my DVD?" If you like a movie or series enough, it's almost always worth having the Blu version over crappy, low-resolution DVDs, even if the Blu has a not-so-good transfer, it will still look better than DVD.

i already own Rambo 2 and 3, and the extended cut of Rambo 4 on bluray dvd. i am not a big fan of first blood so i passed. the box set i saw at target but it looks like it has the first 4 films but in a slim case, kinda like rocky. but i already own the films i want so this is a pass.

The new complete collector's set is an automatic PASS for me as well. $50 at Target and it doesnt even include the DC?!? Since I already own pt 4 I figured just get the trilogy box for $24 and pay $13.99 for the new DC. Saved me a couple bucks!
