I've been trying to get this to work for the last couple of hours, but I can't get anything but NAT Type 3. I've been following all the steps laid out that I can find in Google searches, but nothing. I've assigned a static IP address to my PS3. I've opened all the ports in my router suggested in the search results. I've added my PS3's IP address to my DMZ with the suggested ports open and closed. No luck on anything I try.
My hardware is a fat PS3 with up to date firmware. My router is a Linksys WRT54GS, and I have a small silver Motorola DSL modem. I'm not sure what model number it is. My DSL is through AT&T. The one thing I cannot eliminate as a problem is that my router's IP address is 10.10.10.1 and the IP address for my modem is 192.168.1.254. I don't know if the fact that these two numbers aren't the same is causing an issue. I tried changing my router's IP address to 192.168.1.1, but then I lost all internet connectivity. Someone please help. |

Some info here on opening up a few ports in the linksys, look toward the middle of the apge...Good Luck
In addition to making the necessary changes on your PS3, you will also have to open up some ports on your router. The ports you need to open are: TCP: 80, 443, 5223 UDP: 5223, 3478, 3479, 3658 http://www.pregamelobby.com/forum/ps...-your-ps3.html Oops, I see you opened the ports already..... Maybe try setting up your router with OPEN DNS.... |

I finally got it. The problem was that my DSL modem and my Linksys router weren't setup together correctly. I had to do factory resets on both and then set the modem up in "Bridged" mode and then set my router up accordingly. All in all it was a huge PITA that took several hours to get figured out, but I finally got it. I now have NAT Type 2 and after properly setting up the components all I had to do was put the PS3's IP address in the router's DMZ.
Here's where I got the information. Setting the Motorola 2210 modem to bridged mode Configuring the Motorola 2210 with a Linksys router Thanks to everyone who looked, and thanks to Bodyslide for posting. Mods I got what I need. This thread can now be closed. |
