Default Blu-Ray Storage Stand ;)

Hello guys,

If this topic is in the right topic "moderators" feel free to move it. Anyways, I need help finding a Blu-Ray unit.

I have a rack now, however it doesn't hold that many Blu-Rays. I want something that isn't a shelf, but a storage rack. I want it where it is made for Blu-Rays, and has slots for Blu-Rays. I hate having to but Blu-Rays on top of each other.

I want it where I can see the title of the movie nice and clear.

Any help ?

some of us just built BD cases, it is not hard and depending what you use (real wood vs something else) it is relatively cheap

Rob posted his, there is also a thread in the HT construction forum.

I went to the store and got 8 8"x1"x10' boards of pine, asked them to cut 4 of them in 4 (16 shelves of just under 2.5 each) and the other 4 to cut the top off (i.e. 4 shelves the same size as the rest and 4 x 7.5 for the sides). I put conditioner, tint and then varnish and then to attach the shelves I used L brackets (84- 4*20 shelves+ 2 for the kicker for each case) and screws (a bit more then 100, on most shelves I only screw the L on the sides). I also used some spare pine I had in the home to make a kicker. I also bought the other tpe of L and T brackets since I did not want a back to it

but this was for two cases with 9 shelves each and each shelf can hold over 60 BD cases, so over 1000 BDs and that was around 200$

You could try one of these http://www.amazon.com/Atlantic-Maxsteel-3020-BluRay-8-Tier/dp/B00005OT5X/ref=pd_cp_e_3

There is a 5 tier and a 12 tier as well. There are some interesting pics from users combining them by staggering the shelves. From what I gather from the reviews they are metal posts with wire shelving that lock in place by sliding onto plastic clips. We use carts similar to that at work while it may not seem sturdy when it is together it is quite strong.

I just ordered a couple of them myself I should have them mid week.

Leslie Dame does make very nice quality cabinets but as you mentioned they're very pricey.

That looks very nice. This is something I'd like to upgrade to. So all 3 doors slide instead of open out?

Yes, with that model all three doors slide versus opening out.

It works for me! great quality like I said... Real wood, sliding doors work great, nice solid handles to open & close! Kind of feels like something u would buy @ crate & barrel!!! Takes about 1 - 2 hrs to put together & descard the packaging.... Ships in 2 boxes, pretty heavy as well
