My Grade 9 home room teacher used to have a coffee mug on her desk filled with other things than coffee.

One let us out of class early because he wanted to try and get rid of his hangover

While not ethical, teaching is a very stressful job so I can understand why some teachers would turn to alcohol.

I don't see why that's confusing, I clearly said I was against it but since teaching is very stressful, most teachers probably need ways to alleviate that stress. My sister does it by going to the gym, I guess this teacher does it by drinking on the job.

I don't think any of my teachers drank but one smoked enough cigs to make the whole class smell like smoke.

I had a teacher that we could have sworn drank in class. He is the only person I have ever seen chug Scope mouthwash and not spit it out.

We all though it was some sort of Peppermint schnapps.

Same here, I am from a time when smoking teachers could still be found in college. Annoying, made the whole class smell. I never smoked and I just can't stand the smell of it

I live near a middle school, and one block from an elementary school. Believe me, I know why she drinks. If I were locked up with those hooligans I'd drink to.

I went to a private high school and used to bum smokes from teachers.

The teacher's lounge had enough smoke coming out of it when the door was opened the amount of smoke that came out may have been able to trigger some smoke alarms.

I remember family gatherings back in the 70's where the living room could not be seen due to the smog

My 10th grade year, in Germany, our Geometry teacher was as high a freakin' kite. He gave us the same worksheet for two weeks straight. I s**t you, not. He also had a couch in the back of the room where he would just go to sleep. He would ask us if we had any money on us and we'd be like; "No." And he asked if he could just call us all; "Dino." He'd be like; "Dino, what's the answer to problem five?" And we'd just look around. Then he retired and he never informed the staff of his replacement and so we came in on his day he left and a lot of us just skipped school that day since he didn't show.
