Default Thick UK (Reg B) Cases....

Hi, i noticed that UK blu-rays are a heck of a lot cheaper than the US ones.. But what is up with the thick casing? Not that I'm really bothered by it but i'm just curious, why are the casings not the same size like DVDS?

Anything else that might be different form the US version? The extras perhaps?

Thanks a lot!!

Okay. But how much more thicker are they than the US ones? Does anyone have a screen cap of the difference?

Thanks!

Check a PS3 game case..... identical.

I agree with UK guy. Thicker cases do seem sturdier but the down side is that they take up more shelf space.

I don't think a pic would show you the difference, it's very small. Best advice, go to a best buy, grab a Blu-ray and then go to the game section and place it next to a PS3 game and you will see what the difference is. It's almost nothing.

UK cases are 14mm thick, while most US cases are 12.5mm.

Americans are familiar with the UK cases because they are used for our PS3 cases. They are much sturdier than the flimsy, thin cases we get in America for movies, but their size does pose a problem when you build up a sizable collection and you are running out of room.

Double check to ensure the extras (in addition to the film) are region Free...... or more accurately, they are coded properly..... there has been discussion of 50hz this or that, or whatever..... I don't know.....

I have ordered from the UK several times and have never had a problem....... There are certainly some great titles out there to get!

Check if a movie from the UK as been reviewd on this site, the reviewers will always mention if they are region free.
