Default Relative dating on home page

Today instead of dates for each news item on the home page, I now see relative dating on home page. I dislike seeing; "3 hours ago, yesterday, 2 days ago", etc. Much prefer the old dates method; "4-7-14, 4-6-14, 4-5-14", etc.

Is there some option for me to change the way it displays for me?

It's never a good idea to date relatives. For shame Blu-ray.com, for shame.

But being serious, the dates are still there if you click the individual news posts. Or you can just read the news from this page which still lists dates:

The relative dates have been there for a week, you are the first to notice
The reason for the change is that we have a very international user base with many different time zones, so a relative time is easier to read.

So, No way for me to change preferences, right?

BTW, depending on which country the member lives in, the 'Yesterday', '2 days ago', etc. can still be off by 1 day.
<GRIN>

I have a Mac & Apple likes relative dating but, you can change it & I did.

Actually not, the posting time is set in the news post on the server, which is relative to the server's internal clock, so this way the relative time will always be relative internally and displayed correctly for everyone
But if more members complain about it we can add an option for it, we're just very busy right now with a lot stuff

I like it, and I don't see what the issue is. The actual timestamp is there if you need to fund out exactly when it was posted.

ha ha....I thought exactly the same thing when I saw the post. Really don't care to date any of my relatives, especially if it's going to be announced on Blu-ray.com. The girls are either too young, too old, or too fat.
