On July 1st, Studio Canal will release the new 4K restoration of Le Jour se lève, the fourth collaboration between director Marcel Carné and writer Jacques Prévert, which was voted one of the 10 greatest films ever made in the very first Sight & Sound poll.

Great news, my favourite French movie! Hoping this will be released by Studio Canal in the UK if it doesn't have English subs. Mind you, I once imported this on Secam VHS without subs for a frightful amount, so I'll obviously get it anyway!

Most of them do but, recently, La Bête humaine didn't for no apparent reason so I'd wait and see. Fingers crossed!
