Hey
I know everyone hates a movie tie-in, but I think if you like the film, then the game is usually pretty fun. So here's my question.... What is your favourite movie tie-in game (if you have one)? Mine would probably be The Thing. I think it's a really good game! It's technically a sequel to the film. It got really good reviews and I spotted it in a Top 50 PS2 games list back when PS2's were the height of gaming. I still whip out my copy of it and play it every now and then! ![]() So what's yours? ![]() |

On that note I am with the OP, The Thing is a great game. The Wolverine game made recently is also pretty entertaining. |

Yea didnt realize that. I automatically assumed the other way around. In that case Im not sure. I would have to think about it. The Saw game was decent when I played it back when it came out. Im sure there are others but I would have to look into it. Got Em!!

Yea its probably cheap now. I think they are working on or about to release part 2. Part 1 is just like the movie. It has those gadgets and tricks that u have to get out of with time limits and such. I didnt play it for long but again I found it pretty interesting. I may revisit it later also. Got Em!!

The Chronicles of Riddick.
Escape from Butcher Bay is the best movie tie-in game I've ever played. Assault on Dark Athena isn't far behind it. And the best part is that Escape from Butcher Bay comes with Assault on Dark Athena! |

That is a great one. I still need to finish Dark Athena.

Similarly, Avatar: the Game was improved considerably by pursuing a "side story" at some other base camp (the better to avoid using too many star voice cameos or depictions), not following the corny-@$$ movie storyline, and just shooting up the virtual countryside like you know you wanna. ![]() Pixar's Up and Wall-E do follow the general storyline, but let you explore the virtual setting in sometimes too excruciatingly exhaustive detail. (Depending on how stuck you are, in Ratatouille, for ex., but Up has a nice LEGO-style co-player system.) |

I think my fave film tie-in's probably "The Mask", for the SNES. The movie itself is still one of my faves, and the game is a guilty pleasure for me as well. I love all the gags, and the characters that appear from the movie (like Stanley's landlord Mrs. Peenman, who waits at the end of Stage 1).

Best movie tie-in game? Oh, no question about it:
![]() ![]() (No, seriously, I'm actually geezer enough to have played one of those before they buried them in the desert... The "M*A*S*H" game was better, though: http://www.AtariGuide.com/2/264.htm I didn't say "good", I said "better". ![]() |
