Garmin GPS software - Blu-ray Forum

OKay, I have a Garmin 265WT and the wife and I are going to take a trip on a motorcycle...our first one.

Is there any software out there that you can plan your trip with on a computer, then transfer said route into the Garmin?

Garmin provides software packages that should allow you to do just that. The software should have been included on the DVD that came with your Garmin but if not you can find links to those packages via the following link:

MapSource is for Windows and RoadTrip for Mac OS or are you looking for software other than those provided by Garmin?

This is my first Garmin...so I had no idea it would do that. The software on the disc never had to be loaded...just had to turn the Garmin on, and that was that.

Per chance is there any other software that may be better than Mapsource?

That's quite understandable. I'm not aware of many software apps that will allow you to create your own routes and then download them to your Garmin. There's a free app called EasyGPS, but you can also create routes in several of the online mapping services such as Google Maps and MapSource.
